There are moments when a simple TILLYKKE says it all.
With the TILLYKKE COLLECTION, PHILBERT has created a series of ceramics inspired by a very Danish birthday tradition – using Dannebrog, the Danish flag, to celebrate special moments and decorate the table.
The collection consists of four different pieces: cup with handle, cup without handle, vase and pitcher. All are created in the warm, milky-white Tillykke Cream and decorated with small red and white Danish flags.
The Story Behind TILLYKKE
For a long time, I have wanted to create a beautiful birthday collection that could be used when setting the table and making a celebration feel a little more special.
In Denmark, we have a very special tradition of using Dannebrog, the Danish flag, when celebrating birthdays. The flags are a natural part of many Danish birthdays – on the table, in the cake, as decorations and as little flags in the garden.
It is a tradition you don’t see in quite the same way in many other parts of the world. In Denmark, we use our flag a lot – for birthdays, celebrations and other special occasions.
I couldn’t find cups, pitchers and vases with the expression I had in mind – a design that was simple, beautiful and cosy. So I decided to design them myself, using the small red and white Danish flags as a beautiful and decorative detail.
I wanted to create ceramics that feel Danish, simple and cosy, while also being pieces that can be enjoyed far beyond the birthday celebration.
For coffee and cake.
For a cosy lunch.
For dinner with family and friends.
For flowers from the garden.
Or as a small hostess gift.
I hope the collection will bring a little extra joy to both the big celebrations and the small moments in everyday life.
And so TILLYKKE was created – a small collection inspired by a much-loved Danish tradition.
A Little Danish Tradition
The joy of gathering around the table is at the heart of the collection.

The small Danish flags give the ceramics a distinctive and playful character, while the soft shapes and warm cream colour keep the design simple and elegant.
Cup with Handle
The beautiful cup with handle has a soft, rounded shape and five Danish flags that follow the cup like a small decorative garland. On the other side, TILLYKKE is beautifully engraved.

Cup without Handle
The handleless cup has a simple and modern expression. The Danish flags form a delicate ring around the cup, adding a charming Danish touch.
